We asked 144 SEOs to visit this page and cast their vote on typical risk and effort boundaries they follow. Here are the results:
Majority of our respondents show affinity towards safe, low-risk SEO practices ranging from moderate to high amount of effort. The low-effort SEO professionals appear polarised. There is a large group who follows safe practices and another significant group of high-risk takers. Finally we have an in-between group which prefers moderately safe SEO practices combined with a moderate amount of effort. My personal highlight is the top right corner. There are the people who’re willing to apply extraordinary effort on high-risk SEO practices. Sounds like the most profitable area to operate while we wait for Godot Penguin.
